    The City is developing a new Sustainability and Environment Strategy and the community were invited to help shape a healthier, cleaner and more sustainable future. A range of engagement activities were conducted with stakeholders to capture the values and priorities of our diverse community.

We're seeking community feedback on two elements of the coastal adaptation program: Aesthetics of the retaining rock (revetments) - weathered face visible or hidden and the optional installation of the granite outcrops.     Following round one community consultation, further consultation with Elected Members, industry bodies and key stakeholders, the City of Busselton has developed a draft Community Health and Wellbeing Plan 2026–2031. The draft plan was available for community comment closing 5.00pm Tuesday 31 March 2026.

    The You Choose survey closed at 5pm on Sunday 15 February. Thank you to everyone who voted for their preferred projects - we appreciate you taking the time to complete the survey and support our local community groups.

    We will now collate the votes and share the results with Council in March.

    The first round of consultation for the Victoria Square Draft Master Plan consultation closed on 16 January 2026, thank you to everyone who provided comments.

    Following the community survey, there will be an opportunity for family members of people whose ashes are interred in the Memorial Walls, and the wider community to attend dedicated workshops to discuss design concepts further.

    We will update you as soon as these workshops are finalised with the consultant.

    The City of Busselton is developing a 50-year strategy to guide the future development, maintenance, and operation of our cemeteries. We’re inviting community feedback to ensure these spaces continue to be managed in a sustainable and respectful way that reflects the diverse needs and values of our residents and visitors.

    Your input will help shape how our cemeteries are planned, the services they offer, and how they evolve to meet future community expectations.

    The City is responsible for the management of three active cemeteries:

    • Busselton Cemetery
    • Dunsborough Cemetery
    • Metricup Cemetery

    Whether you’ve visited these sites, have loved ones interred, or simply care about how these important places are maintained, we want to hear from you.

    The City of Busselton has developed a draft Coastal Erosion Strategy for the Marybrook–Siesta Park coastline, informed by earlier community feedback and expert coastal assessments. The Strategy outlines a long-term approach to managing erosion and protecting coastal assets, with a preferred option of installing a rock groyne system supported by targeted beach nourishment.

    The draft Strategy includes:

    • A concept plan for eight rock groynes between Lot 66 Caves Road and the Siesta Park Holiday Resort boundary
    • A staged implementation plan, prioritising high-risk eastern areas
    • A long-term monitoring and maintenance plan

    Consultation closed on 22 August 2025. Officers will review feedback and prepare a final draft strategy for Council to consider. To view more about this project visit the project page here.
