Victoria Square is locatedopposite Orana Cinema, along Albert Street and ishome to the Cenotaph War Memorial. The Cenotaph War Memorial was erected in memory of the men of the district who enlisted in World War I and was the first War Memorial in Busselton. In 1995, the Memorial Walls were added to the park and ashes of local servicemen and women, and their family members are interred in the wall.
The City of Busselton ispreparing to develop a masterplan for Victoria Square, with concepts to be considered by the Council in 2026.Following on from discussions with family members of those interred in the Memorial Walls, the wider community are now invited to have their say on what they’d like to see in Victoria Square.

Please note this consultation is not regarding the new Busselton War Memorial in Rotary Park.
Victoria Square is a place for celebration and remembrance of sacrifice, whilst also offering a green, open space as you enter the City. We hope through this master planning process we can enhance the space and ensure its longevity for years to come. Improving walkability within the City and connecting Rotary Park War Memorial with the Cenotaph War Memorial and the rest of town.
The community should be assured that the Cenotaph War Memorial will remain in the space as a symbol of reflection and remembrance.

Following the community survey, there will be an opportunity for family members of people whose ashes are interred in the Memorial Walls, and the wider community to attend dedicated workshops to discuss design concepts further.
Family members of people whose ashes are interred in the Memorial Walls are encouraged to get in touch with the City project team to discuss their situation.
Consultation closes 5.00pm Friday, 16 January 2026.
Council will consider design concepts for Victoria Square in early 2026. Every submission helps shape our community. Elected Members will review all feedback, officer advice, and community input before making a decision
