Consultation has concluded

In partnership with the Commonwealth’s Road Safety Innovation Fund grant scheme, the Share the Regional Road project aims is to measure the impact of roadside signage types in activating awareness of cyclists on rural roads, and to evaluate if the signage has an impact on cyclists’ perception of safety whilst sharing the road with vehicles.

The project is in the final evaluation phase, and the City seeks your input to see if the variety of installed signage has improved driver awareness of cyclists on the road and created a safer shared road environment for cyclists. By completing the survey, you are eligible to win one of two $100 vouchers to dine at a local restaurant.

Survey closes 16 October 2022.

Thank you to all who took the time to complete this evaluation survey; we had 94 responses. Of the responses:

    • 81% cyclists noticed the new signage
    • 87% drivers noticed the new signage
    • 71% cyclists think the signage is effective in improving cyclist perception of safety (ranging from slightly - extremely effective)
    • 83% drivers think the signage is effective in improving their awareness of cyclists (ranging from slightly - extremely effective)

    These are great results!
