Safer Speeds Trial

Update - January 2025

𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗹 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗱𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁 “𝘄𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗻𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸” 𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗱 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹

Following extensive community consultation with regard to a possible “whole of area” speed reduction trial in late 2024, the City of Busselton Council decided not to proceed with that approach and is no longer involved with the RAC’s Safer Speeds Trials partnership.

This decision was made at the City of Busselton Council's Ordinary Council Meeting on 29 January 2025.

Instead, the Council unanimously decided to support a trial of speed reductions on a specific selection of 14 high priority roads and areas selected based on officer advice and community feedback. These proposed speed reductions will still be subject to approval from Main Roads WA.
