DRAFT LOCAL PLANNING POLICY
DESIGN REVIEW

Pursuant to Schedule 2 of the Planning and Development (Local Planning Schemes) Regulations 2015, Council has adopted, for the purposes of community consultation the Design Review Local Planning Policy.

The purpose of the proposed policy is to:

• Supplement the City’s development assessment process by providing design input from an independent panel of design experts; and
• Ensure higher quality buildings and an improved public realm through Design Review of development applications and City projects; and
• Outline the types of applications of other planning documents that will require Design Review; and
• Set out how commentary provided by a Design Review Panel will be taken into consideration; and
• Establish a process for fees and charges.
