Design Rationale:
Garden Adventures
Inspired by the wonder of a thriving garden, this nature-based playspace invites children to slide down a giant snail, flutter alongside butterflies and become a florist for the day. Rich in imaginative play opportunities, the design encourages children to immerse themselves in a miniature world where curiosity, creativity and exploration flourish.
A dedicated sand play area provides hands-on opportunities for digging, sifting, sorting and experimenting with pulleys, buckets and spades, supporting sensory development while introducing fundamental concepts of science, mathematics and cause and effect through open-ended play.
Inclusive design is thoughtfully integrated throughout, with unitary surfacing providing universal access to musical play, role play, puzzle-solving and rocking experiences. The distinctive Snail Multiplay structure reimagines the traditional post-and-deck playground, offering familiar physical challenges within an imaginative form that encourages curiosity, problem-solving and creative exploration. By presenting play in unexpected ways, the design inspires children to think differently, build confidence and develop essential physical, cognitive and social skills while connecting with the beauty of the natural world.
Grassland Discovery
Inspired by the Australian bush, this nature-themed playspace captures the sights, sounds and experiences of spending time beneath the gum trees. With the laughter of kookaburras echoing from the treetops, children are welcomed into an immersive environment that encourages imaginative play, sensory exploration, and meaningful social connection.
A dedicated sand play area provides rich tactile experiences as children create gum leaf cakes, sell gum nut cookies to passing visitors and share cups of imaginary lemonade, fostering creativity, collaboration, and role play. Inclusive play opportunities are thoughtfully integrated throughout, with universal access to a giant basket swing, Penta Post musical chimes and a Swirl Spinner, ensuring children of all abilities can play together.
Beneath the main play structure, shaded retreat spaces provide opportunities for quiet play, emotional regulation and social connection. Here, children can relax with friends, enjoy the calming sensation of sand flowing through their fingers and engage in restorative sensory experiences. Together, these elements create a welcoming playspace that celebrates the Australian bush while supporting imaginative, inclusive, and developmentally rich play for every child.
