What is a Reuse Shop?

A Reuse Shop, sometimes known as a tip shop or trash n treasure shop, will be a facility where reusable items typically disposed of at the City’s waste facilities, are intercepted away from landfill,  to be re-sold to the public. The word Re-use recognises a move away from considering items for tipping or dumping into landfill, to focusing on the items as a reusable resource.

    Why a Reuse Shop?

There has long been a recognised interest from the local community to establish a local Reuse Shop that will provide items with a second life that might otherwise end up in landfill,   whilst providing our community with the opportunity to shop for low cost goods such as furniture, building materials, tools, kitchenware, outdoor equipment, etc.

The Reuse Shop will also provide lower cost goods as well as being an ideal community based hub for employment, training and education opportunities.

When will the Reuse Shop open?

The City of Busselton is planning for the Reuse Shop to be open to the public early 2025.
