In May 2020, The City of Busselton endorsed the Sport and Recreation Strategy 2020-2030 (SRFS). The strategy acknowledges that Dunsborough based clubs highlighted the need for increased space to train and play basketball, netball and football (both soccer and Aussie rules) which was underpinned by findings that playing fields and indoor courts are under-supplied in the Dunsborough area.
Included in the strategy are a list of priority projects for the City to focus on between now and 2030. The Dunsborough Sport, Recreation and Community Services Planning and Investigation project includes the following two priorities from the strategy:
Recommended Priority 2: Masterplan the Dunsborough Playing Fields and Naturaliste Community Centre
Recommended Priority 3: Partner with Dunsborough and Districts Country Club to maximise the opportunities at this site for Dunsborough sub district
This two-phase project will investigate and identify opportunities to increase spaces to train and play all major sports, consider the future of community spaces such as the library, and result in masterplans for the following sites:
The Dunsborough Playing Fields and the Naturaliste Community Centre (NCC)
The Dunsborough Districts Country Club (DDCC)
This page will serve as a hub for all information related this project.

The purpose of this survey is to gain an understanding from residents and users of current community infrastructure within the town of Dunsborough to assist in planning for future provision.
While the focus of the planning work is on master planning the Dunsborough Playing Fields and the Naturaliste Community Centre (NCC) site, and the Dunsborough Districts Country Club (DDCC) it is also important we obtain information in relation to all community facilities and services needs within the town. We are therefore seeking comments more broadly in relation to a range of community facilities and services serving the current population and the need for additional services and infrastructure to accommodate future growth. Community facilities and services include those provided for:
Sport and recreational use
Public open space (non-sports related recreational use)
A variety of community uses (including childcare, playgroup, meeting rooms, child health, family services etc.)
Youth
Libraries
Arts and Culture
Seniors
Socialising / Gatherings
Heritage
*The assessment does not include schools, hospitals, medical centres which are dealt with under separate planning processes.
Please take a few minutes to complete the following survey on behalf of yourself and/or your family. This survey will close at 5pm on Monday 13 February 2023.
