STRUCTURE PLAN AVAILABLE FOR PUBLIC COMMENT

DP24/0006 - STRUCTURE PLAN - LOT 6 COMMONAGE ROAD QUINDALUP

The City of Busselton advises a structure plan has been lodged for Lot 6 Commonage Road Quindalup to guide future subdivision, dwelling density and land uses within the lot.

The City is welcoming comments on the proposed structure plan with the proposal open for community consultation from 11th June 2025 and closing 9th July 2025. Both the structure plan and associated Scheme Amendment 58 are being advertised concurrently, however separate submissions will be required if wishing to make comment on both plans.

The documents can be viewed in the Document Library on the right-hand side of this page and hard copies have been deposited at the City offices, 2 Southern Drive, Busselton, viewable during office hours.

Council decision C2504/111 at the meeting of May 14 resolved to advertise the structure plan and in doing so, particularly encouraged feedback on the following elements of the structure plan:

  • An enforceable mechanism to facilitate remnant vegetation protection within the grouped housing site abutting Commonage Road;
  • The protection of as much of the current view corridor looking east from Commonage Road including (but not limited to) the Christmas tree/s;
  • The projected volume and timing of traffic entering Commonage Road from the main entrance/exit (including implications for Diamante Road);
  • Relocating the Commonage connecting PAW to the cul-de-sac and introducing a no development buffer area on the southern boundary of the estate abutting 335 Commonage Road; and
  • A mechanism to ensure the prevention of the cluttering of verges and street vistas with vehicles, vans, skis, boats etc.
