Consultation has concluded

The new Busselton Foreshore kids' playspace is well and truly underway...but both the Adventure Playspace and Toddlers' Playspace still need a name!

Get your thinking hats on and tell us what you want these awesome new playspaces to be named! The Adventure playspace has a strong maritime and coastal theme (full description below) - so please do keep that in mind when offering your suggestions!

The suggested names will be forwarded to Council for consideration in making the final naming decision (please note that this is an ideas forum and the names suggested may not necessarily be used in the final naming of the playspace).

About the new Busselton Foreshore Playspace!

The playspace will be representative of Busselton's rich maritime history and stunning coastal landscape.

The playspace centrepiece will be the impressive wrecked clipper ship. These tall ships frequented Geographe Bay in bygone days carrying early settlers, precious cargo and transporting South West timber from the Busselton Jetty to various locations across the world.

From the depths of Geographe Bay, emerges the giant squid. Extremely abundant in these waters, squid-fishing is a popular pastime here at the Busselton Foreshore.

Ride high on the back of a gigantic humpback whale as it undertakes its annual southern migration. In springtime, from September to December, these magnificent creatures can be spotted from the Bay as they hug the coast line travelling with their young from calving grounds in the State’s tropical north.

About the new Busselton Toddlers' Playspace!

It’s time to explore this wonderful, sensory-rich playspace which pays homage to Busselton’s strong rail history.

The wonderful centrepiece is known as a length runner trolley, accessible for all toddlers to climb on-board and get transported back in-time! The length runner trolley was a piece of equipment originally used by Westrail in Busselton to carry tools and materials to maintain the rail. This refurbished trolley was inherited by the City of Busselton in the 1980’s, being used by the City’s maintenance team for works on the Busselton Jetty.

Kids can immerse themselves in the sensory gardens, getting lost amongst musical flowers and chimes. Crossing the rail line or hopping aboard the train will take them on even more adventures to the rotating climber and the spinning tournicolo!

This interactive Toddlers’ Playspace has been developed with accessibility in mind – with sensory-rich play equipment making it suitable for all children.
