LOCAL PLANNING SCHEME AMENDMENT AVAILABLE FOR INSPECTION

LOCAL PLANNING SCHEME No. 21 AMENDMENT No. 62 AND ASSOCIATED STRUCTURE PLAN

Notice is hereby given that the local government of the City of Busselton has prepared the abovementioned Scheme Amendment and associated structure plan for the purpose of:

Rezoning Lots 2 and 3 Mewett Road, Lot 12 Genoli Road and Lots 11, 22 and 726 Commonage Road Quindalup from ‘Rural’ to ‘Urban Development’. The Amendment proposes to insert Special Provision Area No. 79 into Schedule 3 of Local Planning Scheme No. 21 and delete Additional Use ‘A2’ from Schedule 2 – Additional Uses. The structure plan has been lodged for Dunsborough East to guide future subdivision, dwelling density and land uses within the area.

Council at its meeting of 25 June 2025 resolved to initiate the proposed Amendment No. 62, subject to modifications. The Amendment Special Provisions were required to be modified in August 2026 following a direction from the Minister for Planning, pursuant to section 83A of the Planning and Development Act 2005.

The City is inviting comments on the proposed Amendment No. 62 and associated structure plan. The proposal is open for community consultation from 9 September 2026 to 21 October 2026. Both the Amendment and associated structure plan, DP24/0008 https://yoursay.busselton.wa.gov.au/dp24-0005 are being advertised concurrently; however, separate submissions will be required if you wish to comment on both plans.

THIS AMENDMENT IS AVAILABLE FOR INSPECTION IN ORDER TO PROVIDE AN OPPORTUNITY FOR PUBLIC COMMENT AND IT SHOULD NOT BE CONSTRUED THAT FINAL APPROVAL WILL BE GRANTED.
