DRAFT LOCAL PLANNING POLICY – BUSHFIRE AND AMENDMENTS TO

LOCAL PLANNING POLICY – HOLIDAY HOMES

Pursuant to Schedule 2 of the Planning and Development (Local Planning Schemes) Regulations 2015, Council has adopted, for the purposes of community consultation, a draft Local Planning Policy – Bushfire and amendments to the Local Planning Policy – Holiday Homes.

The draft Policies seek to:

1. Rationalise the format of the Holiday Homes Local Planning Policy, and remove bushfire planning related content from that policy (as that context is proposed to instead be included in the proposed Bushfire Local Planning Policy); and

2. Re-introduce a Bushfire Local Planning Policy to clarify the application of State bushfire planning law and policy at a local level (an earlier policy had been rescinded because it was considered to have been redundant by new law and policy introduced at State level), and apply policy principles that already apply to holiday homes to other forms of development in bushfire prone areas.

Please register online and complete the survey to make a submission regarding this proposal on or before Wednesday 15 May 2019.

If you do not have access to the internet, the proposal is available for viewing at the City of Busselton Civic and Administration Centre, 2 Southern Drive, Busselton; or alternatively at the Busselton or Dunsborough Libraries.

Please be aware that details of your submission may be made available to the applicant for the opportunity to respond. In certain instances your submission may also be used to form part of a Council report making it a public document.

Chief Executive Officer,

City of Busselton
