It's time to vote! Which community led projects or initiatives do you want to see here in the City?
The ‘You Choose’ community funding program has returned for 2026 with more exciting community projects for you to choose from, so now it's time to vote! How do you want to allocate the funding pool of $100,000?
13 community projects are in the running - ranging from animal welfare and wellbeing to cancer care and neurodivergence support. Each project has applied for up to $20,000 of the funding pool, but it's up to you to vote on which project receives the funds.
How it works:
Voting is open to all residents and ratepayers in the City of Busselton from 12 January 2026 until 15 February 2026 (about 4 weeks).
We will require your email address (but you can unsubscribe when the project is over when you like - we just need to know that you're a resident or ratepayer)
All voting is via our online budget allocator - we won't have any paper voting slips but one of our friendly staff at our Customer Service Centre or Libraries would be more than happy to help you access the site so you can still vote
The $100,000 funding pool is distributed through smaller grants of up to $20,000 per project. Select which projects should receive funding by selecting proposals that together total the full $100,000 pool
Don't forget to rank your preferences
If you have any questions or want some help with voting, we’ll be at the Busselton Foreshore Market on Sunday 18 January and the Dunsborough Lions Market on Saturday 24 January.
The most popular projects, as voted by the community, are then considered by Council.
The You Choose community funding program runs every two years.

The You Choose community funding program is now open for voting.
Select the projects that you wish to receive funding. As you select a project the bar at the top of the page will show you how much funding is left. Once you've allocated the total $100,000 you will not be able to select another project. After you've chosen your projects, please make sure you rank your selections.
Click submit and your vote will be recorded.
The most popular projects will be presented to Council for consideration.
