Holiday Homes Amendment Local Law 2022
Consultation has concluded
Stage 2 of the Holiday Home Review is now complete.
At its meeting of 8 June Council resolved to commence Stage 2 of the Holiday Home Review. The purpose of this stage is to initiate amendments to the City’s Holiday Home Local Law 2012, which included the advertising of the following proposed changes:
- Reducing the manager response time from 24 hours to 12 hours (relating to clauses 2.3, 2.6 and 3.4);
- A review of penalties listed in Schedule 2.
A copy of the Council minutes can be obtained here (refer to Item 12.1).
The City invited comments on the proposed changes to the Local Law. Submissions closed on 5 August 2022.

Once gazetted, the local law will be reviewed by the Joint Standing Committee on Delegated Legislation, which is a committee of State politicians from both houses of the Western Australian Parliament.
Council also endorsed a policy to formalise the guiding principles which influence the registration conditions at its meeting of 21 September 2022.

From 1 October 2022, as per adopted conditions of registration all holiday homes within the City of Busselton are required to display signage with a visible telephone number on which the Manager can be contacted as required.
