The City of Busselton, with funding from the Department of Local Government, Sport & Cultural Industries (DLGSC), is supporting local sporting clubs and associations to develop Strategic Plans.

The process will commence with the Busselton Hockey Association and those with an interest in the strategic direction of hockey in the City of Busselton are invited to provide feedback.

Successful strategic planning requires a collaborative approach and all stakeholders are invited to be part of the process. Sharing ideas helps ensure the final plan is balanced, achievable and reflects the objectives of the association and the whole community - not just a vocal minority.

Strategic Planning for sporting clubs and associations is a way to gain consensus on a shared vision for the future. It enables stakeholders to define and prepare for challenges and focus on specific outcomes. An effective strategic plan is also an important management tool that can be use when interacting with external bodies including funding providers.

Matters typically considered as part of the strategic planning process include:

  • Governance and management
  • Finances and fundraising (including grants and sponsorship)
  • Facilities/equipment
  • Volunteer workforce
  • Performance Pathways

In the first instance we invite you to provide feedback relevant to the Busselton Hockey Association. This short survey will take approx. 5 minutes to complete and needs to be completed by 11 February 2019

Once this initial feedback has been provided the next step in the planning process involves the convening three Workshop's which will drill down further on ideas and issues raised through the survey. See right for workshop dates.

The City is also undertaking a Sport and Recreation Facilities Strategy and the Association and Club plans will provide vital input towards the City’s long term recreation strategy.

Please contact your Club Representative, stadium.manager@iinet.net.au for further information and to register to attend the workshops
