Consultation has concluded

The City of Busselton will soon be starting a new phase of planning for the Dunsborough Town Centre.

We are doing this because:

1. You asked us to.

The results of the City’s Community Survey 2017 told us that the Dunsborough Town Centre was seen as a priority for improvement.

2. The landscape has changed.

Since adopting the Dunsborough Town Centre Conceptual Plan in January 2014, a range of the improvements identified in this Plan have been implemented. This changing landscape is shown by ongoing streetscape works, the completion of rezoning to support mixed use development, and the outcomes of several recently proposed developments.

3. It’s time.

It always is. Creating a great place is a continuous process of re-invention.

Within this new phase, which we’ve called RE: DUNSBOROUGH, we are aiming to work across a range of different areas to achieve a vibrant and successful town centre that reflects the community’s vision for the future. This will include initiatives within the following areas:

Re-vision - Develop a collective vision for the future

Re-design - Review our town planning directions

Re-connect - Continue to improve our streetscapes and movement networks

Re-sprout - Support business development and growth

Re-create - Support public arts and events

Thank you to everyone who posted comments for this Your Say discussion. Posts can no longer be made, but are available to review under the Re-vision and Re-design tabs below.

The next step in this project is detailed public consultation to support the preparation of a draft Activity Centre Plan. This will aim to gain further insight into the community’s views on:

  • A vision for the future of the Dunsborough Town Centre
  • At a conceptual/ strategic level, road network and streetscape design
  • At a specific level, building design guidance and controls

The City invites anyone with an interest in the Dunsborough Town Centre to attend a ‘pop-up’ consultation office at the rear of #237 Naturaliste Terrace (accessed from Hannay Lane) to gain further information and provide feedback on the issues that are important to them.

The pop-up office will be open during the following times:

Wednesday 7th November - 8:00am to 6:00pm

Thursday 8th November - 8:00am to 8:00pm

Friday 9th November - 8:00am to 1:00pm

Saturday 10th November - 8:00am to 1:00pm

Sunday 11th November - 1:00pm to 6:00pm
