The City of Busselton has received a Development Assessment Panel (DAP) application to use and/or develop land for the following purpose and public comments are invited.

PROPERTY: Lot 101 (No.285) Gibb Road KALOORUP WA

PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT: Industry - Extractive (Sand)

The City has received a development application for an Industry – Extractive at 285 Gibb Road, Kaloorup.

The proposal includes the following :

  • 14.05ha of sand pit area divided into 6 stages (No gravel is proposed to be extracted).
  • Approximately 200,000m3 of sand to be extracted from the sand pit.
  • Development approval is proposed for 5 years.
  • The proposed haulage route will be north from the site to North Jindong Road and then west along Roy Road to Bussell Highway.
  • A total of 25 laden trucks per day are proposed, resulting in a maximum of 50 trips per day.

It is noted that the site was subject to a previous development approval for a Industry – Extractive which was approved on 9 April 2020. This approval will lapse on 9 April 2025.

The application will be determined under the Planning and Development (Development Assessment Panels) Regulations 2011 by the Regional Development Assessment Panel. If you make a submission, you will be advised in writing of the date and time of the determination meeting.
