The City of Busselton has received a Development Assessment Panel (DAP) application to use and/or develop land for the following purpose and public comments are invited.

PROPERTY: Lot 854 (4030) Jalbarragup Road WALSALL WA

PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT: Industry - Extractive (Sand and gravel)

The above-mentioned development application was subject to a number of conditions, including the following condition :

  • A 2 metre high noise bund, as measured from the ground level of Lot 1 (3988) Jalbarragup Road directly adjoining Pit 2, has been constructed along the entire southern boundary of Pit 2 as marked in red on the Approved Development Plan.

The landowner has now applied to the City to have this condition removed.

Please note that the landowner has advised the following in relation to the proposal :

  • The extraction of gravel will be limited to the removal of the stockpiles on the land (no additional gravel is proposed to be removed).

  • No crushing and/or processing of the gravel on site is proposed.

  • All other conditions of the DA will remain unchanged including but not limited to the following :

    • The expiry of the development approval is unchanged at this stage and it is anticipated that the gravel will be removed from the site within this timeframe (note: an extension of time may be submitted at a later stage for the removal of sand from Pit 1).
    • Operating hours, including in respect of any use of any vehicle or machinery or the transportation of materials, shall be restricted to the hours between:
      1. 7.00am and 6.00pm Mondays to Fridays; and
      2. 7.00am and 1.00pm Saturdays for rehabilitation works only.
        No works of any kind to be carried out at any time on Sundays or public holidays.

  • A maximum number of 20 truck movements (i.e. 10 trucks entering and 10 trucks exiting the site) shall be permitted on any operating day. No truck movements shall be permitted on any other day or outside the approved operating hours

The application will be determined under the Planning and Development (Development Assessment Panels) Regulations 2011 by the Regional Development Assessment Panel. If you make a submission, you will be advised in writing of the date and time of the determination meeting.
