The City of Busselton has received an application to use and/or develop land for the following purpose and public comments are invited.

PROPERTY: LOT 350 QUEEN STREET BUSSELTON
PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT: AMENDMENT TO DEVELOPMENT APPROVAL - USE NOT LISTED

- Construction of marine discovery centre, including restaurant/café, tavern, interpretative centre, staff facilities, cantilevered deck and all associated site works;

- Swimming platform; and

- Australian Underwater Discovery Centre including an interpretative area, observatory, educational experience, gallery space, associated function area and all associated site works.

Stage 1 will comprise of the Jetty Village precinct including a marine discovery centre, restaurant/café, tavern, interpretative centre, staff facilities, cantilevered deck, all associated site works and swimming platform.

Stage 2 will comprise the Australian Underwater Discovery Centre including an interpretative area, observatory area, educational experience, gallery space, associated function area and all associated site works.

The application proposes increasing the length of the ‘village’ component by 26.3m and the addition of: a balcony area (for use as an outdoor extension of the restaurant/café/bar), cantilevered deck, marine discovery centre and swimming platform.

The application proposes the retention of the Australian Underwater Discovery Centre (AUDC),
and the attached plans reflect the previously approved AUDC whale inspired structure.
