LOCAL PLANNING SCHEME No. 21 AMENDMENT No. 60

Notice is hereby given that the local government of the City of Busselton has received an application for a complex amendment to Local Planning Scheme No. 21 (LPS21) on behalf of the owners of Lots 9001, 9010, S19 and S20 Bussell Highway, Abbey.
The purpose of the Scheme Amendment is to:
Rezone the land from ‘Rural’ and ‘Conservation’ to ‘Urban Development’ and
Amend Schedule 10 -Development Contribution Area to include the subject land within DCA-4-Vasse.
The rezoning will enable the future subdivision of the land for residential development.
Council at its meeting of 12 November 2025- Docs Published - resolved to initiate and adopt the proposed scheme amendment, subject to modifications, following an order received from the Minister for Planning, pursuant to section 76 of the Planning and Development Act 2005.
The City is welcoming comments on the proposed amendment with the proposal open for community consultation from 27th March 2026 and closes 2nd June 2026. Both the amendment and associated structure plan DP24/0005 https://yoursay.busselton.wa.gov.au/dp24-0005 are being advertised concurrently, however separate submissions will be required if wishing to make comment on both plans.
The documents can be viewed in the Document Library on the right-hand side of this page or at the City offices, 2 Southern Drive, Busselton, viewable during office hours.
THIS AMENDMENT IS AVAILABLE FOR INSPECTION IN ORDER TO PROVIDE AN OPPORTUNITY FOR PUBLIC COMMENT AND IT SHOULD NOT BE CONSTRUED THAT FINAL APPROVAL WILL BE GRANTED.
