The City of Busselton has received an application to use and/or develop land for the following purpose and public comments are invited.

PROPERTY: LOT 200 (HSE 1676) CAVES ROAD, DUNSBOROUGH

PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT: AMENDMENT TO DEVELOPMENT APPROVAL - TOURIST ACCOMMODATION (REDUCTION OF CHALETS FROM 57 TO 51 AND DESIGN CHANGES)

Details of the proposal are also available for inspection between the hours of 8.30am and 4.30pm at the City’s Civic and Administration Centre, 2 Southern Drive, Busselton; and at the Busselton and Dunsborough Libraries.

At its meeting held on 9 October 2020 the Regional Joint Development Assessment Panel resolved to approve 57 chalets and a Manager's Residence on the site. In accordance with regulations 17 and 20 of the Planning and Development (Development Assessment Panels) Regulation 2011, the applicant has lodged a modification to this approval which includes the following changes :

  • Reduction in the number of chalets from 57 to 51;
  • Change to configuration of chalets resulting in a 6% increase in floor area and increase from 100 beds (comprising 16 x 1 bed; and 42 x 2 bed = 100 beds) to 109 beds (comprising 44 x 2 bed; and 7 x 3 bed = 109 beds);
  • Redesign of the external appearance of the chalets; and
  • Redesign of the access and carparking areas.

No changes to the amount of vegetation to be cleared is proposed.
